Sleeping among flowers, bees and beets
The Test Garden contains 2 tiny houses by the Dutch designers and makers of Wikkelhouse. These comfortable holiday homes are made from 24 layers of recycled cardboard, wood and flax, so they are super sustainable. They are equipped with solar panels and, thanks to good insulation, air heating and cooling, are ideal for a relaxing stay all year round. After purification in special tanks, the waste water is used to irrigate the surrounding pear trees and hedges. And they are beautiful inside and out!
Just like everything else at De Proeftuin, a lot of care and attention has been paid to the decoration around and the furnishings of the houses. The basic principle for the design of the houses is: reduce, re-use, recycle. We found most of the furniture on Marktplaats!
With a stay at De Proeftuin we want to inspire guests and let them experience that sustainability can go hand in hand with comfort and beauty.

Welcome to the Linschoten Testing Ground
We grow healthy vegetables here. Organic and small-scale. Nature-inclusive, with love, attention and good care for the soil. Our goal is to create a cozy community where we reconnect people, nature and agriculture.
We do this to make the part of the earth around us more beautiful and better. And we do this for you too!
Take out a vegetable subscription. Come see, smell and taste. From the vegetables or from the goodies in the tea garden. Organize a special meeting in the large glass greenhouse. Lie down under the pear trees among the sheep and listen to nature.
Or ... dream away in a beautiful, comfortable ecolodge with a view over corn fields.

In the area
The Linschoten Test Garden is located in the old orchard on the Linschoten estate: corner of the Noord Linschoterdijk and the Haardijk in Linschoten. The idyll and tranquility of the Linschoten Estate form a beautiful frame for the garden. The entrance can be found on the Noord Linschoterdijk, next to the farm at number 26. The area here is beautiful for cycling and walking, but less suitable for cars. But... if you are staying in one of our eco-lodges, we have arranged separate parking for you, which you will be informed about when you book an overnight stay. Region
